The Culture & Heritage excursion focuses on the living traditions of Lingnan culture and the distinctive cultural character of Guangzhou.

As a major city in the Lingnan region and an important starting point of the Maritime Silk Road, Guangzhou has preserved a continuous and richly layered record of urban development. Historical and cultural remains from different periods reflect the city's early development during the Qin and Han periods, the flourishing trade of the Tang and Song dynasties, and the commercial prosperity of the Ming and Qing dynasties.
Following the historical development of the city, the excursion will explore sites and cultural remains associated with Guangzhou's urban history and commercial heritage. Participants will encounter tangible traces of the city's past, learn about its longstanding connections with the Maritime Silk Road, and gain a deeper appreciation of the cultural foundations and open spirit that Guangzhou has carried forward throughout its history.
